Exam Stress : How we can Help our Child

Exams are crucial part of Education but it is source of stress for many students. We parents need a strong approach and mindset to deal with that traumatic phase of our child.

 Sometimes Mental stress is only in mid, what we all need is to set a certain discipline around them which involves us too.

Few ways to beat exam stress are:

1. Help Manage their Time Wisely

Sit with them and help making them their time table a month before examinations . Make sure they are going through that schedule which you both made a month ago. This will help your child to feel reduced stress as he is already prepared.

This also avoid last time mugging up. Don't forget to add revision sessions too in time table.


2. Never compare their Peers

Never make a mistake by comparing your child with any of his classmates or buddies. Every child has its own pace of learning and grasping things. What our role is to take out the maximum of potential  of our chunk.
Appreciate him for his efforts,even if they are less than your expectations.

3. Never talk too much about Exam

This is a human nature; Thing revolving round us force us to talk and think about that all the time.Never do this to your child. Let it be pert of your brain all the time but don't make him realise that He is a warrior and has to win the battle in any condition.

4. Supplement them with Nutritious food

We are'What we Eat!!! And the saying goes very right here. When our brain is on MISSION EXAM what our body demands is good fuel to run it wisely and efficiently.

So keep your child's diet not so heavy, inspite include protein rich Oats,Yogurt and fresh fruits ,vegetables and necessarily Milk in it.

5. Take necessary Gaps

Even if it is a day before exam never let your ward to let down into books whole day. After certain interval of time ask him to get up and have a SMALL WALK, or ask him to watch any of his favourite teleseries or Talk to any of his good friends.

Taking a small power nap is best remedy to deal with exam stress.

6. Never talk of Results Before Exams

Most NOT TO DO . Never fear them by talking the consequences neither allow anyone else to take the matter.
Make them clear ,Now is the time of action and what we have to do is put our best. Rest is almost Done.

7. Last!!! SLEEP AND DRINK WELL

Keep their body hydrated with lots of water. Even if they are not able to eat so well because of anxiety or stress, mind it, They drink well. Some energy drinks(without suger or caffeine) may work well.
Sleepless nights are very common during exams and understandable but try your best that your child takes a good sleep before exam so that the energy required during exam is conserved and help them fight fear of exam more easily.
